Mr. Jack joined McNeil and Associates in April 2008 after he retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. He has served as prosecutor, defense counsel, Circuit Military Judge, Staff Judge Advocate, and the Regional Defense Counsel, Eastern Region. He finished his career as the senior trial litigation advocate in the Marine Corps representing Marines and Sailors in the most complex cases. He has been lead counsel on many cases of historical significance. These include defending:

  • A Navy Corpsman charged with murder, conspiracy and kidnapping stemming from combat operations in Iraq (result: honorable discharge, re-enlisted);
  • A Parris Island drill instructor charged with negligent homicide in a recruit’s training death (result: Acquittal, promoted to Gunnery Sergeant);
  • A Special Operations Company Commander relieved of duties in Afghanistan for civilian combat deaths (result: Court of Inquiry, No charges filed);
  • An E-2 charged with Acquaintance Rape with confession and drinking in the barracks (result: Acquittal on rape, 15 days restriction for drinking underage, Court-martial conviction set aside post-trial).


Mr. Jack also represents clients facing serious felony charges, appeals, and senior officers and senior enlisted personnel facing threats of administrative separation.

Trained Media Expert

Mr. Jack was also trained as one of the few Public Affairs Officers in the Marine Corps and graduated from the Defense Information School. He served in the Marine Corps as a Public Affairs Officer in various billets as an official Marine Corps spokesman. Notably, he served as the Marine Corps’ spokesman and legal expert to the world’s news media during several high visibility general courts-martial. He has appeared on local, regional, national and international television and radio to include interviews on 20/20, Nightline, NPR, CNN, & BBC.

Legal Background

Mr. Jack graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law. While at “Ole Miss,” Mr. Jack was elected as the Chairman of the Moot Court Board, was an advocate on the National Mock Trial Team, was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and was chosen by the Law School faculty to receive the Phi Delta Phi Award for the Outstanding Senior Law Student. He is a member of the Bar in Mississippi, North Carolina and the District of Columbia.
